|
|
I cannot make the clubrun on Sunday Nov 1st.
Is there anyone willing to nominally "lead" it?
I can suggest a destination cafe and a route from the clubroom and return if you wish.
You do NOT have to ride at the front all day, just be the nominal "boss".
Do we have anyone willing to step up to the mark? It's not difficult.... _________________ Dave Binks |

I can see you are underwhelmed with replies Dave, soooo me and Helen will lead one this weekend, but have looked at several forecasts and to say it's looking grim for Sunday would be putting it mildly.
If the forecast is still c..p by tomorrow we will ride on Saturday instead, I know this makes it difficult for some but we are lucky enough to be flexible.
If we do ride Saturday, and meet same time, same place how many of you are interested?
Will post again tomorrow pm, but if there are no replies we'll just ride from home. |

I cant make this sunday as it is but this saturday would be great.
I'll be there, don't mind where we go as long as it has some nice cake to eat.

I'm sure I am available to ride this saturday too. Depending on how saturday goes I might even be able to manage a sunday also
If a leader is still needed on sunday then I could plan a route. However I can guarantee that there would be a couple of instances where taking an unplanned direction would happen during the ride! |

Thanks to Matt and Matt Just had another look at Sunday and all I can say is good luck! Rain and gales. Saturday looks ok if the overnight rain has passed through. Suprise destination [only because it's likely to be a suprise to me ] |

Does this mean Steve that we can go ahead and meet up on saturday - 9.15 at club?
Also, if any are reading this and thinking of riding sunday (what with the weather) please can you indicate here if you will ride on sunday. Then I will know if I should sit down and plan something. If you have any suggestions of routes/cafes then please let me know that too.
Thanks. |

Ok 5 of us confirmed. Unless there are strenuous objections can we please meet at 9 instead of 9.15. Saturday will be busier than Sunday, actually I've always wondered why we meet at 9.15, am sure Binky will let us know, just seems an odd time.
Take a look at the forecast Matt, am definitely not riding Sunday. Please post ok if 9am works. |

Okay - yes, will meet you guys at 9.00 saturday morning at club house.
In regard to sunday I'm no longer going to ride out not only because of weather but also need to prioritise some other things.
Cheers. |

It came about as a compromise.
In the summer we used to meet at 9.00 and in the winter at 9.30.
The later winter start was to let the frost clear a bit before we ventured out. Being a Sunday, the traffic hadn't cleared the roads as much by that time as they had in the week.
Dark winter mornings also were a factor for those who had a long ride to the start.
However, it caused confusion at the changeover date from winter to summer, so we simply split the difference and fixed it at 9.15 all year. _________________ Dave Binks |
